Why do we have cats?
Why do we have cats?
I currently have a cat, in fact if you include the stray sleeping in my kitchen I have two!
Why do we have these creatures in our houses?
Unlike dogs they don't protect the house against burglars and intruders. They are supposed to be fierce, wild creatures but actually they are usually more interested in food...

I seem to have two cats.
This is not acceptable. I only seem to recall agreeing to have ONE cat.

Cats' litter trays
Cats' litter trays
I have noticed a distinct change in my cat's use of his litter tray since winter set in.
Lately, even if he goes out for a while, he seems to use the tray when he comes in.
I guess he doesn't want to "go" out in the cold - but this hasn't been an issue in previous years.

I have decided to bring back my Cat Lovers group
Because I am a big fan of sweet cats! :s3
I now have a second "unofficial" cat, Harley, who is a stray who sleeps in my kitchen.

Cats in baths
Cats in baths
Despite having lots of warm rooms and beds to sleep on, my orange cat is currently choosing to sleep in the bath, which is clod and uncomfortable.
Why do cats behave like this sometimes? Is it to show us how hard they are or something?

Cats in winter
Cats in winter
I have noticed a distinct reluctance among cats to actually go outside in the winter when it is cold.
What's that all about? How would a cat in the wild feed itself if it considered it too cold to go hunting?

Cats and Lawns
Cats and Lawns
I am very fond of cats and have a blue point Suamese myself. However, I have noticed this year in particular that he has taken to weeing on the back garden lawn, and I think other cats are joining him. There are bare patches all over the place. Any ideas how to a) encourage him to wee elsewhere, and b) how to treat...

Has your cat ever hissed at you?
Has your cat ever hissed at you?
Mine just has, despite never having hissed before.
These cats have a bloody liberty at times. How would he like having to catch his own food eh? He couldn't, that's how. He's too fat and lumping and wimpish.
They should remember who feeds them!

Is there any point to cats?
Is there any point to cats?
I mean, cats are lovely and all that, but what purpose do they serve?
They think they are hard but they aren't. Well mine isn't anyway, I know this because I know of no "hard" creature that likes having its chin rubbed so often while lying on the floor with its legs in the air.
And whilst I'm sure they believe...
