Default Anyone built their own computer?

The GBFOC (great big fuck off computer) I bought with my GBFOP has gone on the fuckin blink and is now back at the manufacturers. I thought I may as well try and fix my old one which died a few month back. When I took it in to get fixed at the time the computer people said the motherboard was fucked, as evidenced by swollen capacitors (fnarr fnarr). Anyway, I purchased a new (second hand) identical motherboard off the internet and took pictures of all the connections before removing them and putting the new motherboard in place. Going off the photos and videos as a guide I've nearly completed the replacement of all the wires. If it hadn't been for the videos I wouldn't have a fuckin clue what went where. Anyone know what determines that?

Make sure you are 'grounded', otherwise you might damage components via ESD.

You likely just haven't wired the the mobo power jumpers correctly...

......take a multimeter and put it across the pins of the PSU connectors, you will soon see whether that has gone on the blink or not (probably not).

I think you might be right, that little section was one hell of a fiddly bit too duplicate from there videos. I've checked the internet for the correct configuration and got the diagram. I've put it away for now and will take a look over the weekend. Thanks for that Bob.

An android tab is plenty for most people, a posh one like mine will do for most things.
Cheaper, easier, and you can troll BC without needing a multimeter.

A tablet is a 'computer' for spastics.

Anyone who actually does anything at all on their computer other than social media or porn, needs a laptop at the very least, but a desktop is always going to be the more high powered, comfortable and preferable option.

Anyway, reconnected the power jumpers. Think I did it correctly this time in that the machine powered up. Unfortunately it didn't post. The machines alive but in a coma. Going to have a little rethink as to whether to proceed or not.
