If there was a general election tomorrow I wouldn't have a clue who to vote for. They're all a shower of shites.
Amusing smilies aside, you ought to realise that beneath what may sometimes appear to be banter, I do in fact despise you. Don't be flattered, my contempt is free to all lefties who support the indoctrination of children. ~ Memnoch, Dec 2014.
Our Labour NDP Parties have never incited Anti Semitism over here in Canada.
So what is up with the UK Labour Party and their becoming Anti Semitic. I have never heard anything about it on our Media Services.
Basically 3x3, there have always been different factions within the Labour party. There has been a traditional split between the left (socialists) and the right (social democrats). On the left there is a tradition of supporting the Palestinian cause, and opposing Zionism. And don't get me wrong, the Palestinians have been much wronged, and have a right to a homeland themselves. Unfortunately this anti-Zionism often spills over into antisemitism. It's sometimes difficult to draw the line between the two.
Corbyn effectively mounted a coup to take over the Labour party. He took advantage of a rule change in leadership elections from the old triple electoral college system to One Member One Vote. In addition, people were allowed to sign up as Labour "supporters" for less than the price of a beer, and have a vote in the leadership election. So large numbers of left wing Corbyn supporters joined the Labour party and voted for him as leader. There is also widespread suspicion that some Conservatives signed up as "supporters" to vote for him, knowing he would be unelectable.
With all these new leftists in the party, there is unfortunately also a nasty strain of antisemitism. Corbyn's ineffectual handling of this is one more indication of his unsuitability as leader.
Sorry, didn't mean to write so much, but I just wanted to explain the current situation in Labour.
