Fish fingers weren't around when i was a child, Parson, at least I don't remember them if they were. The only thing on your list that would regard as really horrible is the tinned ham.
This little lot appeared regularly at meal times . We were expected to try them - everytime they appeared - but could leave them if we really didn't like the taste. However no alternatives wee offered - we ate what was there or went without!

Yuk! Thank goodness I do not have to eat any of those ever again.
I donít remember eating anything really horrible, my Mom was a good cook, it was all plain, boring food but it was all edible. I do remember not liking some tinned soup I was given for lunch once and sitting at the table whinging about it, I was maybe five or six, Iíve never liked tinned soup and I remember not wanting to eat Coco Pops because theyíd gone soggy but I donít think that counts because I liked them before they were soggy. School used to give us steamed plum tomatoes out of a tin, no seasoning, just a whole, sloppy tomato, I never chose them but I still donít like the smell. My own kids eat pretty much anything, but they are lucky, Iím a very good cook and Iíve always fed them the same food as everyone else, so they like pretty much everything, some of them are vegetarian but thatís more an ethical thing... they all loved bacon.
