Starvation and poverty are a very real threat for the unemployed. Due to such limited funds, I am often faced with the stark choice between buying a weeks shopping at the local Aldi, or a pouch of Golden Virginia.

I disagree with that, I am a leftie, I know a lot of lefties, I voted remain but overwhelmingly we all hold the common belief that it’s gone on too long. The worry is actually that people are so pissed off with it all that they no longer care what happens as...

To say I am devastated is a huge understatement. I was hoping to get on a free training course to enable me to get a job writing android programming software but the Tories will never invest in the long term unemployed, so I may have to settle for a dead end...

Durgemonster replied to a poll How will you vote in the general election?
I meant expense, which would be a pretty bleeding obvious typo to most people. The other reasons I have given still stand. By manual work I mean getting your hands dirty, grading tomatoes, sorting parcels, walking 8 miles to work and back every day. Walking...

It looks to me that you are using the great recession as a great excuse. For your information I was not made redundant, I was constructively dismissed. I ask again, why didn't YOU apply for the vacancy and relocate like you expect me to? Do you consider...

Durgemonster replied to a poll How will you vote in the general election?
Another self righteous twat with his head up his arse. For your information, I worked in a parcel warehouse and I had a mortgage the same as you at the time of the recession. When I was forced to leave the company through no fault of my own,the vacancy was...

Parsonstreet has been signed off by his doctor so not much can be done, he can't legally be employed. I tried to get signed off with my Aspergers but they weren't having any of it. Aspergers syndrome has got me the sack on a number of occasions, so I would...

Just about everything is wrong with working. It goes against human nature-nobody really wants to work, it causes pollution, it is humiliating and unnecessary. It is the fault of a society of sheep for going along with it without question.

Durgemonster replied to the thread Sorry lefties, BoJo is going to walk this one in General Election 2019
Your right, I am sick and tired of being given the third degree by the Nazi staff at the Job Centre when I am only claiming what is mine by right. Corbyn will sort the situation out so that we working class are treated with respect and dignity.

The internet is essential for the unemployed these days. If the Government want me to apply for jobs and sign on using the internet, then they must provide the connection. Walking to the job centre once a month would be a backward step in my opinion.

I did for a time. The company was a badly run shambles and when I suggested they make a few improvements I was invited to resign. I think it was because I knew more about the job than the management did.
