Liz Truss had said she stands by the top rate income tax cut, but says it was the chancellor's idea.
FFS this mob have even less of a clue than the previous mob. Bring back Johnson and Sunak, they look competent by compasiosn.

Seems appropriate for Autumn - all things to do with Harvest are welcome.
Under the Harvest Moon
by Carl Sandburg
Under the harvest moon,
When the soft silver
Over the garden nights,
Death, the gray mocker,
Comes and whispers to you
As a beautiful friend
Under the summer roses
When the flagrant crimson
Lurks in the dusk
Of the wild red leaves,
Love, with little hands,
Comes and touches you
With a thousand memories,
And asks you
Beautiful, unanswerable questions.
Are entertaining in themselves. I love to imagine Ponsonby's discomfort as he logs on everyday. I hope it doesn't encourage any dv though.
I've been buying old Ronson Lighters the last few weeks, four Cadet ones and four others that I've forgotten the names of. The Cadet is one of my all time favourites, to my surprise and delight one of them, the picture on the left, was a Mini (best of the best) and it came with a really nice leather case, two of the others came with nice suede ones. The black case went straight on the Mini that I already have, it was my Dads first lighter. I also got me four Service Outfits and two of the older type, two accessory kits and some spare parts. None were in working order but it's an easy fix and I've done the Mini already, it's very common to pick up an old lighter that won't strike even after putting a new flint in, it will usually come down to the old flint being left in and they seize up.

The lighter on the right is an Orlik Sport No.77 that I bought this week, they made these in 1925 and the one I already have was my Great Grandads so another all time favourite. I couldn't let it go because it's in such good condition, relatively cheap and it comes in the original box.
I also picked up these old Henckels dinner knives, it's a perfect dinner knife, I could keep buying knives till the end of time I will not ever find a better knife.
