Default Ki No Ronin's Tarot Card Journal

    Konnichi Wa to All:

I am presently studying the Divinatory Art of Reading the Tarot Cards as part of my Wicca Paganistic Studies.

One part of the course states that in order to help memorizing the meanings of the Cards, one should maintain a Tarot Card Journal. Since Tarot Reading is a Divinatory art that has aspects of Astrology intrenched into it, I have decided to post my Tarot Card Journal in this Forum.

The Tarot Card Journal chronicals your Readings, and Studies of Tarot Card. As part of the Studies, all you have to do is Draw One Card per Day, and then you think about that Card all day concidering over it's meanings and how it may relate to the Day your having. Although most Tarot Decks are based on the Rider/Waite Deck, I have the Light and Shadow Deck.

I am about to make my First Daily Draw of my new public online Tarot Card Journal.

Shuffling, Shuffling, Shuffling, Cut Cards and Flip:
    Ace of Wands!

Ace of Wands Rider/Waite meaning is:

An exciting new project or career. The essence of fire, creativity, inventiveness, ambition and enthusiasm. The aggressive pursuit of new ventures. Foundations for future success, intuition, conception, fertility, artistic innovation and manhood.

I have found that the final line meaning from the Light and Shadow Deck is very similar. The meaning from the book I have with my Light and Shadow Deck goes:

Ace of Wands signals the arrival of Powerful Forces Associated with Fire: Comforting Warmth or Scorching Heat, Revealing Light or Blinding Glare, Cleansing Flames or Potentially Destructive Fires. Triumph, Success, Transformation.

It is good that this Card has come up as it is easy to see how it interprets to my Day Today. By starting this Thread, I have started an Exciting New Project.

I would now like to state that another part of the Tarot Course I am Studying states that it is best to get lots of practise doing Readings. So I invite anyone who wants me to do a Reading for them, please do not hesitate to make such a request. If you want me to do a Private Reading for you, then just PM the Reading Request to me. If you do not want me to post the Reading onto my Tarot Card Journal, make sure to inform me.

Off topic! Tarot cards and Astrology are two different methods of divination.

After reading a post by KiNoRonin elsewhere, Mark and I discussed renaming this Forum *Astrology and Divinatory Arts* to give more scope for the content. Or simply *Divinatory Arts*................

(Mark was going to put a thread in to see what people thought........)

What do you think of the idea, Bill???.......and anyone else's comments welcome too.

An excellent idea, as there is no place else for things such as Tarot or I-Ching apart from maybe the Pagan forum.

    Konnichi Wa to All:

    October 6th:

This morning, I am making my Daily Tarot Card Memorization Draw.

Shuffling, Shuffling, Shuffling, Cut Deck and Flip:

The King of Cups. On the card of my Light and Shadow deck, the King of Cups is holding upright the Crab of the Astrological Sign of Cancer. In his other, he is collecting Rain into his outstretched Cup.

    Its Rider/Waite meaning is:

"A person who commands respect, but not love. A man of business or law, considerate and responsible. He is kind but ambitious and a skilled negotiator. He is a born manipulator, someone who has arrived in a position of power by the use of brain as opposed to brawn. He avoids taking people into his confidence and often works in secret or behind the scenes. He is a seeker of power, with hidden motives, often distrusted or feared by those around him."

Its Light and Shadow Deck Meaning is somewhat similar to the Rider/Waite meaning.

I can understand how the King of Cup's meaning relates to today, as on every month on the morning of the 6th of each month, I post notices for Tenants who have not yet paid their Rent, thus today I have had to become from a Leadership role, a man of business or law, considerate and responsible. And I arrived at my present position with successfull use of Brain instead of Brawn.

There have been not requests for Readings in that past 24 hours, so that is all for now.

    Konnichi Wa to All:

A Tenant of the Apartment Building I manage lost her Cat a Month ago, so I have done a Three Card Spread informing her what most likely happened to her Cat.
This is the Past, Present, and Future Three Card Tarot Spread.

    It goes:

First is Past, and the Seven of Wands came up, which means:

"Sudden desire and impulse. A card of caution in the face of opposition.
Change of residence, job or possibly both. An indication of triumph in
the face of adversity, but must be through cunning. No real progress,
    through lack of purpose."

Obviously, the Cat had and a Desire and Impulse that resented the sudden
change of Residence that resently occurred, so once the Cat had an open
window at hand, the Cat went for it.

Second is the Present, and the Emperess Card came up, which means:

"The promotion of well-being and security. Creativeness in financial
affairs, love and parenthood. Maternal care, domestic stability,
abundance and material wealth. Fertility, security, achievement of
goals and growth. Depending on surrounding cards - sometimes marriage
    and pregnancy."

It is obviously that where ever the Cat got off to, it found Maternal
Care, Domestic Stability, as well as Abundance. Seeing as Cats have no
use for Material Wealth, then that does not count. I believe that the
Cat was Female, she may have ended up Pregnant, and may now looking
after a litter of Kitten. This latter meaning is of course possible if
you did not have the Cat fixed though"

Third to come representing the Future was the Eight of Pentacles, which
    means:

"The use of one's skills and personal interests to rewarding and
profitable ends. Reaping the fruits of one's labour, a small increase
in money. An advantageous card for any talented or enthusiastic
individuals. To enjoy lasting success efforts should be continuous and
    not halted prematurely. Thriftiness."

For the Future of approximately 4 or 6 Months, your lost Cat will live a
full and rewarding life with her (if possible) litter of Kittens.

I think it would make sense to make the forum a bit wider-reaching - Divinatory Arts sounds good to me!

    Konnichi Wa to All:

    October 7th

Here is my Daily Memorization Tarot Card Draw.

Shuffle, Shuffle, Shuffle, Cut and Flip: The Six of Cups.

    Six of Cups meaning is:

"Harmony, past associations have brought present relationships. A sense of the past. Happiness that results from past efforts. Pleasant memories and the realization of a dream. Can also indicate new elements entering one's life which are linked to the past, which will work through the present to create the future."

I have the Light and Shadow Deck and it has a picture of a person with a big smile on their Face throwing Flowers and Goods to a crowd from 6 Cups that are overflowing. Its meaning is:

Charity and Kindness. Generosity, Fellow Feeling, Empathy. Bestowing benefits on others, sotht in times of trouble aid will be returned, but also because giving - without regard to return or praise = is one the Highest Human Acts.

Both cards meaning are both fairly happy and cheerful. They both indicate Happiness and Good Deeds.

    Konnichi Wa to All:

    October 8th

This morning Tarot Card Memorization Draw is The Wheel of Fortune:

I wrote an essay on The Wheel of Fortune Card, it goes:

The Light and Shadow Deck also has a T, A, R, and O on it just like
the Rider/Waite Deck. T is at North, A is at East, R is at South,
and O is at West quadrants of the Wheel. The Sphinx is holding his
Sword at the Top of the Wheel as usual, and there are all sorts of
Animals and People up and down the Side of the Wheel as well.

The Course states that the Wheel is often difficult to decipher
because Destiny and Future are things out of the reach of Human
Understanding. Fortunately for me, I have done a lot of study and
research into the History of one of the Great Grand Master Ovates of
all Time: Nostradamus, so I have a fairly good understanding of
    Destiny and Future.

I have looked over the L&S Deck Wheel Card and can not find any sign
of a Handle on the Card.

As far as the Meanings goes, I found that the Course Meaning spells
things out a lot more thuroughly that the L&S Book does. L&S states
simply that they Wheel represents the Goddess's Wheel of Time, and
just states that it could represent Good or Bad Tidings.

The Course touches on the subject of the affects of Gambling, and
goes into Advisory Meanings, which the L&S Deck Book does not.

The Course states that the Wheel Card advises the Querent to get used
to Change and to Accept it. I have a essay on this subject that I
have posted on various Nature Worshipping Message Boards
called: "Mother Teresa's Speech On Acceptance".

As part of understanding this Card, I recommend reading over my essay
    on Mother Teresa's Speech.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is ironic that The Wheel of Fortune Card has come up as it signifies divinations of Destiny and Future as I am planning on going to my local pub tonight with my Tarot Deck. The thing is that there is a Magician coming to my favorite pub to do Card Tricks, so I think that will make the crowd intriqued with the Subject of Cards, so I may be able to entice a few people to ask me to do a couple of Tarot Spreads so that I can get some practise doing Reads on the Cards.

I will post tomorrow on how things went at my local Pub.

    Konnichi Wa to All:

Since you all are upset about Kenneth Bigley getting Beheaded, I have decided to shuffle my Tarot Deck and make a One Card Draw while concentrating on what kind of Life he will have in his Future Incarnation.

This Draw might not turn out to be of everyone's liking as it is a statistical fact that over 50% of the Earths Human Population are Poor, and Underprivileged. But here goes anyways:

Shuffling, Shuffling, Shuffling, Cut Deck and Flip =

Seven of Swords. Its Meaning is:

"Sudden desire and impulse. A card of caution in the face of opposition. Change of residence, job or possibly both. An indication of triumph in the face of adversity, but must be through cunning. No real progress, through lack of purpose."

The Card pictures a Man with a Cheerful look on his face while he carries 5 Swords as he leaves 2 Swords behind while a couple of adversaries chase after him as he had stolen 5 of their Swords.

Obviously, this Card means that he will have a fairly good future life and he will have a sense of having done his share and will always be content in his Future Life. The Swords he carries away with him probably represents the disarming of his enemies as his good work in his previous Life will make the lives of people he did help good enough that they will not feel it necessary to make others fight and suffer anylonger.

One thing is for sure, he will not feel any impulse to go out of his way to help others in a foreign country as he will always have a feeling of already having done his bit during this life.

He will be Happy and Content in his Future Life nontheless, and that is the main thing.
