Default Should Private schools be banned?

Do they entrench privilege and inequality.

Or are they a social good?

Do they entrench privilege and inequality.
Of course they do, and a bloody good thing too.
The idiotic comprehensive system where schools allow all the low end dross with no hope or clue to access secondary education is a long term failed experiment that should be scrapped as soon as possible, but private education is an island protecting the UK's best from an almost Marxist system that allows the worst of the worst to mingle with worthwhile students and destroy the latter's chances of a good education.
The comprehensive system should be consigned to history's dustbin of bloody stupid ideas and the grammar/secondary modern schools be revived at the earliest possible date.
After all, most of the older members here can remember the massive destruction of educational standards after the moronic Labour government introduced the system and their cretinous plans were so far advanced by the time the UK got a real government with a sensible education secretary, it was impossible for her to stop the rot.

    Let's examine what we had:

State run schools that catered for the lower achievers that were destined to become dustbin men and toilet cleaners. These schools hardly bothered with academics because you simply don;t need qualifications to brush shit out of a toilet. Every society needs thick idiots stupid enough to do those sort of jobs and the system produced them.

State run Grammar schools were the equality institutions were people from poorer backgrounds were able to access better education as long as they proved they were worth educating. These wonderful institutions produced quality graduates, the best moving on the universities.

Not to forget the private schools, places where the very best got the very best education as long as they could pay for it.

What does the UK have now?
A mess where daft commie ideals allow total dross kids to destroy the chances of the bright kids that are worth bothering with.

This isn't a case of deciding the future of private education, it's really an examination of the failed leftie comprehensive stupidity.

Anne Widdicombe went to a preparatory school in Bath.

She failed her eleven plus and then she took two degrees one funded by the public and the other by her family and got a third in both yet she made millions as a politician in a safe Tory seat.

Give me a million pounds and I could make anyone successful. That is a reflection of money not education.

Anne advocates for grammar schools even though she would have failed to get in one herself.

So according to Fred only the intelligent wealthy deserve to success via nepotism. Screw the rest of us. I and many other people I know got better degrees than Ms Widdicombe with no chance of her success in the foreseeable future.

I disagree. Many people of lower social status find themselves in the money but they're still gutter material and soon lose the lot.

I really don't see any issue with the concept people can spend their money to buy whatever they want.
The silly socialist idea of restricting the rich was discredited a vert long time ago because it was a load of old bollocks.

Socialism has a lot to answer for and all should be banned in favour of a pure capitalist system where people are free to do as they like within any bounds dictated by the good of society, or at least people with enough cash to be useful to that society.
Of course the world needs fat, ugly people or the toilets would never get cleaned and the streets would be a mess, but I see it as a total waste of cash trying to educate them once they've proven school isn't their thing.
I see no issue with employing anyone that fails the 11+ immediately they leave school, and failing the exam would give them two choices:
Leave school and do menial jobs
Enter vocational education where they would learn useful skills. Of course, they would have to pay for such education as giving it away for free would just encourage a bad attitude.
The bright kids that pass the 11+ should be educated free of charge in state schools so none miss out on their chance to become useful members of society.
Private schools are essential so the UK can have a good quality ruling class.

How many examples of this can you give? There have been a few famous cases of hapless lottery winners but most working class people don't have access to millions of pounds.

However there are many examples of rich people losing money, spending it on nonsense and going bankrupt.

For example Donald Trump went bankrupt 6 times and then look at the amount of money spent on silly modern art pieces and price inflated status symbols.

Including drugs, prostitutes, weapons of mass destruction or buying political influence?

What they are spending their money on is disadvantaging other people.

No child deserves a better education than anyone else and education is now considered a human right not something you should have to buy.

    What a load of bollocks.
How can a thick fucker hope to compete with bright kids?
The answer is they can't so why the merry fuck would you want to waste time trying?
Now add the fact these pointless bastards damage schools forced to accept them and the whole idea of a comprehensive system is crap.
As for buying an education - Do you really want to dictate to people how they can spend their money, you commie kunt?
