School is for education, not socialist social experiments.
The one and only reason a student should get a free place is ability.
Of course, places should also be available to paying customers as this helps all students by giving the school more resources.
What should never happen is letting thickos into good schools because stupid socialist ideas say even dumb fuckers without a hope should go to school and be allowed to reduce standards, thus harming the education of worthwhile kids.

Are you suggesting that we should not educate the majority of the population, but only those rich enough to pay?

But then we'd end up as a third world country, like Indonesia. Oh...

You really have to read my posts rather than just make rubbish up as you just did.
11 plus or cash would get you into a grammar school, thus only the dross would be consigned to vocational schools or early menial work.

I'm unsure where the advantage in trying to teach pigs to sing is.
    It's a waste of money.

If you think about it, thick prols end up cleaning bogs and so on now, just they waste an expensive education they can't cope with before they do it.
I call on the government to cut the waste but cutting education for thick kids.

That saving would mean more money that can be used to better educate those capable of handling it.

Poly Toynbee is another interesting case. She went to the highly regarded Badminton Girls school in Bristol but had to leave after failing her eleven plus.

She passed one A level but then somehow mysteriously got a scholarship to study History at Oxford but she dropped out after 18 months. She now is known as some kind of social campaigning journalist who owns a second home in Tuscany.

John Major is a product of the Grammar school where he left with an impressive 3 O' levels

Simon Cowell went to private schools. He left with 2 O' levels. Fortunately his dad was an executive at EMI.

Jon Snow was privately educated and left school with an A 'level in English at grade C.

According to you we should not waste money on people who underachieve at school.

From what I've seen of her she has no business putting herself forward as any sort of socialist. She's one of those people who has plenty of opinions and likes to tell others how to live then expects preferential treatment. A bit like Harry and Meghan and Uncle Elton.
Amusing smilies aside, you ought to realise that beneath what may sometimes appear to be banter, I do in fact despise you. Don't be flattered, my contempt is free to all lefties who support the indoctrination of children. ~ Memnoch, Dec 2014.
