No. I'm a hypocrite. I don't mind other people killing my animals for me to eat, but in terms of killing animals, I don't think I could manage to kill anything more sophisticated than a fish (unless it was literally a life or death situation), and even with killing a fish I'd be a bit squeamish.
If you can't kill them then don't eat them.

    Lord Ponsonby
Is there anywhere that you would consider working?

When was the last time you killed your own cow for your Sunday roast, Dordie?

Hopefully in the future meat is going to be grown on a huge petri dish.

I think I could kill an animal in the wild

but modern factory farming is very ruthless and we are removed from the source of our food (most of which is foreign muck)

You can be careful about where your food is sourced - our local butcher sells meat from farms a few miles away. Venison season will soon be upon us, and I buy that direct from Bradgate Park, where they breed the deer.

I used to buy meat from a deer farm just outside Barnsley. The stuff makes terrific burgers

Anyone tried ostrich / their eggs?

A dude used to sell them at street fairs in Rotherham.

Yes, and venison sausages, but my favourite is venison stew with chestnuts.

Oh yes, I've been to Bradgate Park and seen the deer. I know someone who lives in Anstey and visit several times a year. I don't like Venison though, I always thought I would but I don't, too strong a taste for me.

Amusing smilies aside, you ought to realise that beneath what may sometimes appear to be banter, I do in fact despise you. Don't be flattered, my contempt is free to all lefties who support the indoctrination of children. ~ Memnoch, Dec 2014.
