Default Ask me anything about Prison and church

It is along time since we had an "Ask me anything" thread (you should all start your own).

Here you can ask me anything about my spell in prison and my childhood in a religious cult.

The Plymouth Brethren would dispute being a religious cult but the branches I was involved in definitely fulfilled that criteria.

I can't think of anything that interests me about these matters. Sorry.

Were you buggered more regularly in prison, or in church?

Why does going to church seem as delightful as going to prison?
I'm a low educated, total guttersnipe, dim witted moron.

I was not buggered in either place.

    Unfortunately.

my childhood in a religious cult.
Did any of your siblings remain in the cult?

How old were you when you realised it was a load of rubbish?
They who walk in silence hang the innocent and set the guilty free.

    Nice Fred
Why does going to church seem as delightful as going to prison?
Prison was a less oppressive place than church to me.

Only one of my sisters is still the the Brethren. It is partly because she is close to some of my cousins and it is her social life.

I didn't think it was a load of rubbish when I left I thought it was very abusive.

Some aspects of religion are silly but a church is run by people and they can engage in serious psychological/emotional abuse.

On a more serious note - as I used to have an elderly neighbour who was a Salvation Army survivor - although you reject most of their tenets, was the early brainwashing sufficiently strong that you're still terrified of going to hell?
