I expect he was in his Baker Street residence, partaking of some Opium, and playing some airs on his violin.

I loved the consternation on the faces of American tourists when I worked in the area: There was no 221B Baker Street until 1990 when the post office officially recognised the premises at number 239 as 221B as a favour to the Sherlock Holmes museum. The actual 221 doesn't have a B, and in Conan-Doyle's time the street didn't even have a 221. I have been asked, more than once and only by Americans, if there wasn't really a 221B, where did Sherlock actually live?

He was probably trying to work out how to used newfangled devices like the Telephone and the Electric kettle.

Got tired of watching the Video at about Part 11 so went to the end.

Seems that it shows that some Jewish Guy was found to be the Ripper and was taken in and Incarcerated somewhere in the Jewish Community.

Ends up making a plausible Theory of who the Ripper actually was.
