Because international law says that an embassy is the territory of the embassy's country, and you cannot invade other countries' territory. If we can storm the Ecuadorian embassy, what's to stop other countries storming British embassies around the world? I don't think you've thought this through, have you?
    Whoooosh!

Two people in this thread have said he's a traitor.

A traitor to whom? I ask merely for information.
    YOU LOST. Deal with it

Well now ... I find it interesting that two thirds of those voting in the poll say that Assange should not be extradited to either the USA or Sweden.

Now I can understand the reasons why people oppose him being extradited to the USA because although he technically broke the law, he exposed US war crimes. (Going back to the 80's, Clive Ponting in the UK comes to mind here).

But rape? That's an entirely different matter.

For those who oppose Assange's extradition to Sweden, I ask this. If it was anyone else, resident in the UK, but accused of rape in a foreign country, would you oppose their extradition to that country to stand trial?

If not, what's the difference with Assange? Is it because you think that the charges have been trumped up to facilitate Assange's extradition to the USA?

Well how does that work exactly? Assange is extradited to Sweden and stands trial for rape. If found guilty, he goes to jail in Sweden. If found not guilty, he is a free man. Is Sweden any more likely than the UK to agree to an extradition application by the USA? I don't think so.

No doubt it will now go quiet (again).

No doubt I will be completely ignored (again).
