    This is a relevant phenomenon:

In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people of low ability have illusory superiority and mistakenly assess their cognitive ability as greater than it is
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunnin...3Kruger_effect

Having high self esteem is not a measure of ability. Likewise people making silly judgments are also likely less able to realise this. So it seems that being ignorant can be associated with increased happiness.

I am sure we have all seen people who are loud and confident (ie vulgar), have lots of children and are feckless and shameless. Statistically, intelligent people have less children to no children.

    Another pertinent aphorism:

One the earliest statements of depressive realism can be found in Ecclesiates 1:18.

"For in much wisdom is much grief,
And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow."

Depression and pessimism are not the same thing.

Depressives don't want to be depressed, they want to get better but pessimists love playing the victim and hate it when things go well. You're not depressed, you're just a whiner.

I have no reason to believe you are an expert on this or anything else.

    Your welcome.

When I was a boy, I was told I would never be a whiner.
Or did they say winner? I can’t be certain now.
