Also remember the UK can immediately scrap the EU's 8% trade tariff on non-EU food imports.

Yes, boys and girls of BCland, prices will fall.

So what? They weren't chlorinating their chicken back then, nor using ammonia to make pink slime from beef. Both of which are illegal in the EU for very good reason.
Dordie and self don't eat chicken anyway....or not very often, and only if we have seen where it comes from...
We don't eat foreign muck either, although the stuff we got from Yankee land during WW2 was jolly good, and did no harm.

We only eat British beef...and can do without it at all if it is in short supply for some reason.

Unlkike your good self, we would never eat a Kebab...made with the scrapings of God alone knows what.

Is there a good reason we need to buy food from the bloody US?
One of the arguemnts the Leave campaign gave for leaving was that the UK would be able to cut its own deals. Now we're seeing what the US, one of our biggest trading partners wants from such deals and, as usual, all you rightards have is silly avoidance.

We can always keep and breed our own chickens in our back gardens and even bring back the old fashioned allotments.

As usual you fail to address the salient points made.

Why can't we eat British chicken, British beef, British pork, and so on? It's not as if there's any sort of shortage

We could include Irish in that as well, they will happily trade with us, with our without the EU. Although should they not wish to do so, or not be able to due to still being in the EU, then bollox to them as well.

Remainers seems to have this bizarre idea that no trade at all is ever possible without the EU. I don't know where this nonsense came from.

Besides which, it's irrelevant. May's 'deal' will be ratified, which means trade will continue as normal. We won't need the Yanks, whatever happens.

UK/EU trade is declining anyway but all the silly remainers fail to mention about half of UK trade is non EU and the tariffs forced on the UK by the EU will disappear.
However EU tariffs will apply to Britain, thus the artificial trade advantages the EU created will disappear with them.
Capitalism won't sit back and die because the EU tries to punish Britain, it will simply find another way.

You can, but a lot of the time you won't know what you're getting, unless, for example, you never eat out.
