The only relevant figure is the percentage of those who voted.
Actually it isn't. There is not the huge mandate for Brexit that Brexiteers claim. The majoirity of those that voted was tiny, because of the turnout, it certainly can't claimed that a majority wanted to leave, which was Mem's claim.

As Reg and myself have pointed out on numerous occasions the vote was done blind. nobody knew, or still knows, what the effects of leaving would be. Expecting people to vote completely blind is NOT good democracy. The whole thing is a farce, whatsmore, it's a dangerous farce, it could potentially destroy the UK economy, and the futures of young Brits for generations to come.

I actually care about that, I realise that you don't, you just think it's all a great big fucking laugh.
Please note that any abuse in this post is both intentional and deserved.

Anyone that feels the need to further point out that it contains abuse is clearly a total fucking moron who's also insulting YOUR intelligence by pointing out the bleeding obvious as if you were too fucking dumb to notice it.

This has been a public service annoncement by Fork Me. Have a nice fucking day.

No, I believe the future of this country is best served by it remaining independent, as opposed to becoming merely a 'county' within the EU superstate.

I'm in favour of the single market, freedom of movement (to WORK, not to claim benefits), the customs union, etc etc. What I am NOT in favour of, is a federal Europe, and the constant handing of UK sovereignty to an unelected and arguably corrupt organisation ruled for the most part by Germany and France and generally set up with their interests at heart, not ours.

That is why I voted leave and I was right to do so.

That's not really the point. I said that this was the right message with the wrong messenger. I'll try to put my own angle on this.

The UK is going to leave the EU. That's not at issue. We had a referendum on the question and the majority of those who voted, voted to leave. I'm a democrat so I respect that result.

The concern is with the European Union Withdrawal Bill. This will give sweeping powers to the Prime Minister to enact legislation without it being passed by parliament. Basically, she will become a dictator.

People who voted to leave the EU thought they were restoring the sovereignty of Parliament. Having sovereignty transferred from the EU to a UK dictator, wasn't what they had in mind.

Yes, so what's the problem with another vote?

We had a vote and the matter is settled. You can't keep having referendums till you get the result you want.

If the majority want it they'll vote again. What's the problem?

Ah, the "let's keep having votes until we get the result we want" argument.
Tell you what, if people are stupid enough to vote a labour government in, let's keep having elections until they get kicked out. One a week should be enough.
