    Has anyone ever heard the word 'shreddies' used to mean 'underpants'?

    Shreddies - Long cotton underpants woven in a pattern that resembled the Shreddies breakfast cereal. (The term was eventually used to describe any type of underwear).

    Yes, but I think in Bristol rather than when I was a kid in the south east.

    Arris = arse


    I thought it was because the arris rail is the 'bottom' rail of a fence....but I was later told that it was convoluted from rhyming slang.

    I am working with a Landscaping Company who has a Funny Supervisor who makes up all sorts of Funny Metaphors from out of the Blue. I should start writing some of them down as they sound so Funny.

    Arris, short for aristotle, aristotle rhyming slang for bottle, bottle abbreviated to slang for bottle and glass.
