The chap in this article has been made redundant FIVE times:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46405412

This, of course, is what happens when your export jobs and import people.

Is this one of the many 'benefits of the EU'?

This sort of thing gives Theresa May orgasms.

Unless the guy is a fruit picker (he's not), then outsourcing jobs is nothing to do with the EU, and lots to do with capitalism. The US outsources jobs to India, too - and they're not in the EU.

And it's also nothing to do with immigration. Those call centre jobs that got outsourced to India - guess what? They were outsourced to Indians living in India, which is where you rightards think Indians should be living.

I thought that article was about the failure of the high street not immigration.

    Online shopping is costing jobs.

I thought the UK had quite high employment rates at the moment.

Well, I see Scrot has fled - he usually does when faced with facts rather than soundbites.

You make a good point about high employment. I read an article yesterday that suggests the true rate of unemployment in the UK is much higher than the listed rate, because most people not counting in the unemployment figures have unsteady and transient jobs: http://uk.businessinsider.com/unempl...numbers-2017-7

All these statistics being produced are patently dubious.

I believe in an idea made by Jordan Peterson summarized as society is as good as the people that constitute it.

I think immigration is being exploited in different ways. The best solution is to behave as you want others to behave ( and vote for people who share your values?)

I think pro immigration people can be as gullible as anti immigration people are prejudiced however.

It probably is but that is the default policy of governments to make employment rates look good by whatever means.

But the levels of employment are higher than they would be if immigrants were stealing all the jobs. Part of the problems is immigrants fill necessary jobs like nursing whilst the government cuts nursing bursaries.

I think people who complain probably need to enter politics if they really have solutions.

It has a lot to do with immigration, because we don't need all these people coming in.

Leaving the EU will enable us to restrict entry to anybody, from anywhere, for any reason. I'm sure we won;t actually do that, which is a pity, but at least we will have the right to do so, rather than the current scenario where anyone from the EU can just turn up here and sponge off us.

If your company outsources jobs to Indians working in Indian call centres and Indian software houses based in India, where does immigration come into it?

That's not what's happening in retail though is it? They don't outsource checkout operators to India. Not yet anyhow.
