Well, be careful. We all know that last time you went to Dunkirk was during the Normandy Landings, when you got your head shot off.
I got off better than 21 years old Sqdn Ldr Mungo Park, he was shot down by three German fighters during the Dunkirk fiasco, his body was laid to rest in Adinkirk cemetery and has been there since 1941. There are 14/18 war soldiers at rest there too, saw some action, that place!

I'm saying the Mail is quoting a source that isn't taking into account the full facts, and it's also slanting the headline to make it sound as though non-EU immigration is all the fault of the EU, which it isn't. The figure of 17bn in the headline has very little to do with the EU, since only 1.2bn of that was to do with EU citizens.

Now, you might argue, that's still 1.2bn too much. But take a closer look - for instance, EU citizens working over here are entitled to the free NHS care that you and I get. That's included in those figures. What isn't included in those figures is the fact that the reason we pay for their NHS care is because the Spanish government (for instance) pays for the healthcare of UK citizens living and working in Spain. That's what the "reciprocal arrangement" is all about.

Just taking one part of that equation and saying "EU citizens over here are costing us X" is meaningless if you don't also take into account how much UK citizens abroad are costing other EU governments money, that we would otherwise have to foot the bill for.
You don't half talk some old crap, you seem to make it up as you go along. Certainly in the case of Spain, the welfare and health system are contribution based... If you've paid nothing in, you get nothing out. Furthermore, the British government gives the Spanish government around 5000 pounds per expat pensioner for their health care, whether they need it or not.

    Hardly a reciprocal agreement.

There isn't one, but you can't blame the EU for that.
Merkle let millions in, they then, once they had acquired citizenship, had the right to move anywhere in the EU.

I thought we were told immigration was a benefit.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...n-UK-year.html
And these figures don't include illegal migrants who are using the NHS for anything from maternity to dialysis and not to mention primary care costs + illegal working
