I'm not bothered by it, just your inconsistency, and I'm not really arsed about that. You should be though, and others might be bothered.
You could fuck off, then all your problems would stop.

Pluto, can you advise me on the most effective way of screaming when you're in danger of being attacked?. For instance, what word do you use? I was thinking a very loud "Aaaaargh!" might be appropriate or maybe I should go for the classic "Helppppp!" And, what kind of voice should I adopt, should it be high pitched so as to elicit help from passersby or should it be low and confident in order to scare the potential assailants and make them think you're pretty hard...

What word did you use or was it just some kind of unintelligible squeal?
In the Leeds incident, I started screaming "help police assault!" and then yes, a general "aaargh" as loud as I could. The men said "just shut up and give us your money". However I continued to scream; and they ran off.

So to my mind screaming has three functions.
    (1) It raises the general adrenaline, preparing you for a fight, a bit like the New Zealand "Haka".
    (2) It helps to alert people that there is a problem and they may call the police or come to your aid.
    (3) It may frighten the attackers into running off, as happened here.

If he’d been really ‘hard’, he’d have called the police.
Ah yes of course, Joe, I should have said to the muggers: "just hang on a second while I get my phone out and call 999, there's some good chaps".

I did have one of those in Leeds, however when I tried to use, it failed to go off.

Except of course that this was early 90s when mobiles were still the size of bricks, and most people didn't have one.

Maybe Joe thinks I should have said, "hold on chaps while we walk to a phone box and I can call the police".

    What a twat.

Not that I care, however it looks like hypocrisy.
I was going to tell you, but as you said that you don't care, I won't bother.
