I prefer to use the measurement of the largest worldwide Doctor Who forum, where it has been generally positively received, and even those to the right of centre who thought it might be too 'pc' have been generally positive.
Actually for the most part that hasn't happened as it was very deftly handled.
The ending was a bit cloying and sentimental though, and seemed to gloss over the fact that the problems didn't magically disappear following the Montgomery protest.
I was...but Jodie Whittaker is too good an actor for me to have gone ahead with that. It would seem a bit pathetic, given that I've seen her in other stuff (Marchlands, Broadchurch) and know that she's very good.
