It may also be significant that roads in Italy are maintained (and I use the word loosely) by a private company who pretty much have free rein to do what they want, therefore, profit trumps safety.

Seems they go for between 60 and 80 quid. IMO, anyone buying it for that has themselves a bargain, A new player for that price would be a piece of shit, and the 2800 is a nice piece of kit.

BTW. Some jumps are easily repairable. Sometimes it's just a speck of dust stuck in the groove. It can sometimes be cleared carefully with a toothpick.

I doubt in the Lonnie Donegan is worth anything but there are Ray Charles collectors out there. The best way to value a record these days is to look at discogs.com and see what it's sold for recently. If you join the site (it's free) you can see the condition...

Mostly spoken word stuff like audio books for the blind, religious lectures and that sort of stuff. There was also a short lived in car record player that used special 16rpm discs.

Most 78s are worth very little. They have to be rare and sought after. Most of the ones you're likely to have heard of sold so many copies that they're not rare. The exceptions are very early (pre ww1) discs and some later ones when 45s had become more...

Let me know the model number and I can get you a rough idea. Don't expect it to be loads though, it's likely to be between 50 and 200 quid depending on model number / condition. For that reason it's usually much better value to get old hifi than new,...

I've been doing that by watching series' I watched when I was a kid so have forgotten them. I've already done the 1977 series of Logan's Run (featuring the lovely Heather Menzies as Jessica 6) and much of Blake's 7. I;ve Sapphire & Steel ready to go next.

As far as I can find the original release was in 1950. In 1970 Music For Pleasure started releasing kids songs on a budget 7" label called Surprise! Surprise!. My copy is this version. I am an editor in Discogs and the photo on the version listed below is...

The first record I ever bought was I Taut I Taw A Puddy Tat by Tweety Pie. In my defence, I was 3.

I've just looked it up to find the date, 1965, and discovered that the Gentrys version was ALSO a cover. The original version from 1963 was a flop. I've also discovered that the Gentrys version had an interestin "cheat" that I'd not heard of before. It was...

Their only 1971 release was "Keep On Dancing" and the main reason people don't think of it as a Bay City Rollers song is that the original version by The Gentries (mid 60s) is much better known and is probably the version they've heard.
