The Fork Me 7" vinyl collection thread Blondie - Call Me (Single, Chrysalis, 1980, CHS 2414) A Call Me B Call Me (Instrumental) OK, now where did I put her number?
The Fork Me 7" vinyl collection thread Blondie - The Tide Is High (Single, Chrysalis, 1980, CHS 2465) A The Tide Is High B Susie And Jeffrey A brilliant reggae feel to this. This is one nof my favourite Blondie tracks. Let's just try and forget the Atomic Kitten version!
The Fork Me 7" vinyl collection thread I love 'The tide is high', my mum used to play us The Paragons' version when we were little - she adored John Holt . Blondie did an ace cover, but I agree, the Atomic Kittens version... well... it's *nearly* (but not quite) as bad as All Saints' 'Under the bridge'

Under the Bridge was a travesty of a cover.
The Fork Me 7" vinyl collection thread Blubber - Pornobaby (EP, XMP, 1994, XMP 001) A1 Pornobaby A2 Glug AA1 Nervous AA2 Crystalkid Blubber were a Brighton based indie rock band with a girl singer. This was self released and they gave me this copy. It has managed to make youtube and there's even a video of another band covering it.
The Fork Me 7" vinyl collection thread Blue Öyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper (Single, CBS, 1976, S CBS 6333) A (Don't Fear) The Reaper B RU Ready 2 Rock This is about the only song of theirs that most people know, which is a shame because they have a recording career that spans from 1972 to 2001. They still exist as a touring band although they've had a huge number of line-up changes over the years. Anyway, apart from this track I don't know much about them either, this one though, it's a classic.
The Fork Me 7" vinyl collection thread Blue Murder / Brighton Rock - Valley Of The Kings / Unleash The Rage (Single sided flexi disc, Raw Magazine, 1989, NUMBER FIVE, Clear) 1 Blue Murder - Valley If The Kings 2 Brighton Rock - Unleash The Rage RAW Magazine was a rock mag that started in 1988 and lasted just 7 short years. They occasionally had a free flexi attached, this was one of them. Blue murder was a short lived supergroup featuring members who had pkayed with/in acts as diverse as Vanilla Fudge, Thin Lizzy, Rod Stewart and Whitesnake. It was the brainchild of John Sykes, main songwriter for Whitesnake during their 1987 comeback. Sykes was the only member of the band to stay in it for the whole of its brief existence. This track was from their first album. Sykes credits Phil Lynnot of Thin Lizzy as his biggest influence, Sykes himself played in Thin Lizzy for a while. They're quite typical late 80s metal. Nothing special, IMO. Brighton Rock, were not from my home town, but were a Canadian glam metal band who lasted until '92. I don;t know a lot about them to be honest, they didn't do very well in the UK, although they were apparently bigger at home. Anyway, as ever, have a listen for yourself.

Oh, my! Now you'll *really* have the conspiracy theorists going. I love Young at Heart, it's a bouncy, happy tune.
