I currently have a cat, in fact if you include the stray sleeping in my kitchen I have two!

Why do we have these creatures in our houses?

Unlike dogs they don't protect the house against burglars and intruders. They are supposed to be fierce, wild creatures but actually they are usually more interested in food and chinrubs.

They jump all over us and trip us up, and also get their tails in our coffee.

What is the point of them, really? Are they child substitutes?

Cats are companions and they have a strange psychological hold over humans.

theyre cute and they bring us presents, you know, beheaded birds, mice with entrails hanging out etc. etc. what more could a cat owner desire? !

yes, why do they do that, i mean they really make a point of doing it, really in your face so to speak lol!

They are natural predators and were they big enough to do it, they would kill you too.

It's a sign of friendship and subservience. You have a friend for life when a cat shows you its bottom.

Don't think that would stop them. They only don't because they CHOOSE not to, preferring instead to be fed and to sleep on your bed.
