MPs want to ban private cars
Finally the truth is coming out. A committee of MPs has stated that private car ownership....even electric cars....is “not compatible with climate change measures” and has called on the government to outlaw private car ownership completely.

Indeed. I have been repeatedly called mad for suggesting this is the...

The government has announced a review of the "High Speed 2" (HS2) rail project, with a decision on whether or not to proceed with it by the end of the year.

The project aims to provide a high speed rail link between London and Birmingham initially, with later phases connecting to Manchester and Leeds.

Billions...

Autumnal Equinox Celebrations
Konnichi Wa to All (bowing politely):

It is now on the Eve of the Autumnal Equinox, so I did some Intenet Googling on the subject and found the following article written by one of the Members of the OBOD John Michael Greer (his DHP Avatar Name Unknown if any).

I thought it was Good, so I Copied and Pasted it...

Trump: Making of a dynasty.
Absolutely fascinating insight into the creation of a racist psychopath. A must watch. A bit scary actually.

Leicester has been warm and sunny, mostly, and around 28 degrees.

What have others had?

Finally the truth is coming out. A committee of MPs has stated that private car ownership....even electric cars....is “not compatible with climate change measures” and has called on the government to outlaw private car ownership completely.

Indeed. I have been repeatedly called mad for suggesting this is the ultimate agenda, and here we are.

It’s unlikely anything that draconian will happen in my lifetime. The younger set who seem to hate cars can enjoy being told where they can go, when and how. If they don’t like it they only have themselves to blame.

The government has announced a review of the "High Speed 2" (HS2) rail project, with a decision on whether or not to proceed with it by the end of the year.

The project aims to provide a high speed rail link between London and Birmingham initially, with later phases connecting to Manchester and Leeds.

Billions of pounds have already been spent on the project, but as transport secretary Grant Shapps has said: "Just because you've spent a lot of money on something does not mean you should plough more and more money into it."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49420332

So what do people think about this project? Is it worth the spiralling cost and environmental damage that it will do?

In today's interconnected world, is there a case for these expensive transport projects? Rather than travelling between London and Birmingham, people can set up a teleconference and talk as if they're in the same room.

So what's your view on this project? Should it go ahead or should it be scrapped?
