The half a row that was full of Polish goods is gone, and now replaced with Pot noodles and other stuff dear to the hearts (mouths?) of the locals.

It's a bit sad really.

They worked hard and always seemed decent people.....but more than half the 10,000 that came to our town have now gone back home.

Get yourself in there and stock up on Klopsiki and anything else you can lay your hands on. Those Poles will be back one day, and you'll be ideally positioned (and stocked) to cater for them. You'll become a Polish food magnate and I'll only take a modest 30% of the profits for coming up with the idea.

Depending on negotiations it may be wiser to stock up on Guvech, Bulgur and Raki.

Yeah, absolutely. I was just about to suggest precisely that...

If it's anything like here, the reason the Co-op is stopping selling Polish goods is because the Polish are opening their own shops. In the last 12 months, 3 Polish supermarkets have opened within walking distance of my house.

Bloody good luck to them, I say.

Oh noes. Bias meter at 100%.

They are polite people and are here to work.
They are the cream of immigrants - but we still don't need them.

Error. YOU don't want them. If WE didn't need them, they wouldn't have any work, and then they wouldn't stay.

We don't need them, the only reason they get work, is because they will work for less money and put our workers on the dole.
The taxpayer pays for the unemployed worker's dole and the employer saves more money with the cheap labour.
Only when your video card changing job is threatened by a cheaper worker, will you start whining.
