Off to do some research....

Ruling center right party DISY came first, main opposition party, AKEL (The Workers Party of Cyprus - who claim to be Communist but aren't even close these days) came second. No surprises there.

The big surprise was third place, taken by Independent candidate Fidias Panayiotou, a popular Cypriot YouTuber who says he knows nothing about politics and stated when he declared his intent to stand that he was only doing so to encourage young people to register to vote. Well, he's now an MEP. He had a big party the main square in Nicosia to celebrate.

I know Doctor Who is a time traveller, but the programme's researchers aren't, so it's a shame that not only are they ignorant of basic research, but they can't even use Wikipedia.

The best bit is that rather than condemning this, the Reform UK spokesman supported this. And then added "but the Greens are even worse".

So the new strap line for Reform UK is "we're not quite as bad as the Greens".
