A computer game firm promoting a new racing/driving game was planning to offer to pay any speeding fines incurred by UK drivers as a publicity stunt for their new game.
They have now had to back down after a storm of protest.
What do others think of this?

This sort of thing has been going on for years.
When you have a consultant hired out at £250 per hour - it's cheaper to pay parking and speeding fines than have him/her stuck out on the road somewhere earning nothing.

Just because the company says it's going to pay doesn't mean everyone is going to start speeding, and anyway, if you go above a percentage of the limit, its an instant ban. Fair play to them, but maybe they should give 30 million free tickets to track days away. muhahahaha (might be cheaper too)
